This wand began not as wood but as a half-inch round bar of steel destined to become something more. I started at the base, splitting the iron into four equal parts. Each was drawn out, tapered, and coaxed into a coiling spiral, a root-knot of metal that holds the memory of the earth it came from.

Just above this anchored spiral, I brought down the ball-pein hammer with deliberate force, texturing the shaft with the aggressive, pocked skin of ancient bark. Further up, a deep, encircling fuller was forged in that delineates the grip from the wand's long, seeking taper.

That final length was drawn out and textured with meticulous care to mimic the grain and gnarl of weathered wood. The entire piece was then heated and sealed with beeswax, emerging with a deep, matte-black patina  

It is heavy. It is cold. It is alive with the memory of the hammer. This is a wand for those who find their magic not in delicacy, but in their power.
