I started with a simple rod and forged and textured every inch by hand to create the look of a gnarled, twisting vine. At its end, a gentle scroll unfurls, giving way to a single, delicate leaf that seems to be growing right from the metal. I managed to forge that leaf from a piece of steel just 1/4” round  

The entire piece is textured to feel truly organic, as if you just plucked it from a mysterious, sun-dappled thicket. It’s then blackened with heat and beeswax, which settles into all the hammer marks and crevices, highlighting the incredible texture and giving it a timeless, rustic finish.
